Fresh Start

This is now my third or fourth blog I have attempted to write. I always start off with the same good intention of regularly updating. However, as time goes on, my determination fades and my posts get less and less frequent. Although I cannot guarantee this blog will not face the same fate as my others, I feel as though my desire to have a regularly updated blog has increased since my last attempt.

With that said, I decided I will dedicate my first post to sharing about a childhood obsession. When I was little I was obsessed with pigs. I though they were so cute and I was determined to own one. I loved going to the “Wonders of Birth” barn at the fair to see all the little pigs. Today my sister, Beth, sent me a link to a webpage (http://dalesdesigns.net/Paulinchen.htm). Just looking at this picture made me really want to have a pig again.

I proceeded looking up cute little teacup pigs on the Internet for the next half hour which lead me to writing this email to my Dad:

Dear Dad,

It has come to my attention that this summer when I want play with a pet I have no options. Sure, you have Kitty to play with, but I am allergic to Kitty. Try to remember a few years back when I was obsessed with pigs. Mom said I couldn't get one because they were too big and not a house pet. However, as time has gone on, there is now a brand of pigs called "teacup pigs" available for purchasing as a household pet. Daddy, these little pigs are the cutest animals I have ever seen! And with these new brand of pigs mom has no reason to object because her two arguments are no longer valid. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal.

My Dad was quick to respond to this request with the following reply e-mail:

Dearest Naomi:

Certainly the stress of your academic endeavors has become evident. When you come home, we will arrange for one of the nice people at Southwest Psychological Services to talk with you ....

So what was the main point of me writing about this? I guess just to let you know that I unfortunately won’t be getting a pig anytime soon :(
